A Free Long-Term Addiction Recovery Program for Women
The Genesis Addiction Restoration Program is a goal driven, long-term, residential
discipleship and recovery program offering hope and freedom to each woman seeking recovery from life-destroying
addictions.
This Christian grace based program focuses on identifying and working
through underlying issues that drive compulsive addictive behavior.
The Genesis Process is for anyone bound by addictions
who genuinely wants to change, and be free. Each enrollee goes through
the following steps:
- Assessment - You and your counselor will assess your physical, mental, emotional,
spiritual and relational stability by determining how much support you
have.
- False Beliefs - You will begin to discover and challenge the false beliefs that have supported your destructive behavior.
- Identity - You will discover areas of false identify that are based on false
gods or idols, such as alcohol and drugs, food, sex, money, beauty and
work.
- Life-Management Skills - You will learn to have more insight into
the addictive brain and to gain life-management skills for coping with
emotions.
- Life History - You will gain a deeper understanding of traumatic events and habitual behaviors that have affected your life.
- Support Teams - Your challenge will be to develop a healthy support team.
- Dead Ends - You will learn how your thoughts, feelings and behaviors have
contributed to your relapse. New knowledge leads to new choices and
behaviors.
- Déjà vu - You will look at old behaviors to plan new healthy ways of responding.
- Accountability - You will create a personal support and accountability team for your balanced recovery plan.
- Exodus - You learn to accept your new life style and release of the guilt and
shame associated with the old addictive/compulsive behaviors.
The
Genesis Process integrates Biblical precepts for personal
change, proven relapse prevention techniques, and other techniques so we can answer the question "Why
do we do the very thing we don't want to do"? (Romans 7: 15-23).

A Faith-based, Spiritually Oriented Christian Discipleship Program
The
Gospel Rescue Mission of Tucson administers this program as a
faith-based, spiritually oriented discipleship program.
The heart of
this program focuses on establishing and maintaining right relationships with God and man, and the
Bible is our primary study book.
Our staff members, from counselors to
cooks, role model and teach the relational skills that change a woman
from being perceived as a "burden" to being an honorable citizen involved in the
civic and social life of the community.
Goals of the Genesis Addiction Recovery Program...
The
goal of this program is to equip and prepare woman to care for themselves
and her family in a wise, moral, responsible and lawful lifestyle.
There are no fees. This no cost program is provided by the generous contributions that our partners share. Gifts given by people just like you.
Eligibility requirements...

Candidates
are accepted on the basis of bed-availability, need and willingness to
commit to the hard work of recovery, without regard to age, education,
ethnicity or religion, with the single exception being that we cannot
take Level II or III sex offenders
The facility is wheel chair
accessible. Only two requirements affect women with illness, injury or
disability: they must be able to take care of their own basic daily
needs (dress, shower, get around), and their medications must not
reduce their mental alertness.
Graduation Requirements...
To graduate, students
will have met the class requirements for each of the studies in the Genesis Program and have
received the "Certificate of Completion" for each study; an instructor's
"Letter of Exemption" for a study is also acceptable.
Without all Certificates, or a
combination of Certificates and Letters, a "Certificate of
Graduation" will not be granted. Final evaluation of readiness to
graduate will be made on the basis of each student's individual "Life
Plan".
