Noel Sharpe receives award at the Gospel Rescue MissionGRM Recovery Program graduate, Noel Sharpe, was recently recognized statewide by the Arizona Coalition to End Homelessness. Noel was presented the “Outstanding Achievement in Overcoming Homelessness” award at the coalition’s annual conference held in October.

She was selected from a group of former homeless men and women, nominated from around the state, who are functioning well within their communities for at least 3 years after graduating from their individual recovery programs.

A month prior to this award, Noel and a co-worker, also won the “Dynamic Duo” award presented by Compass Health Care for her tireless and successful efforts helping those who are in recovery.

Noel attributes her personal and professional success to God and gives Him credit for the work He has done in her life to allow recovery from her former life of drugs.

After 2 years in the GRM program, Noel graduated in July of 2004. She has been employed as a Housing Specialist at Comin’ Home since her graduation and recently was promoted to the Senior Housing Specialist at Comin’ Home is a social service agency that assists homeless veterans with affordable housing and case management services.

A testimony of God using all things together for good, Noel draws from her life experiences helping homeless men and women…as she once was.

Noel is a mother of 2 teenage girls. As if raising 2 girls and working full time in social work isn’t enough to keep her busy, Noel coordinates a Christian worship dance group for girls called “The Jubilee Dancers” and is also a volunteer at the Pima County Jail…visiting, teaching, and encouraging inmates in their faith. In addition, Noel is both a part time employee and a volunteer at our Women’s Center.

We hope you are as proud of Noel as we are…and that you can see just how much YOUR prayer and financial support of the Mission makes such a positive and radical impact in a person’s life. THANK YOU!
