Olive Garden Restaurant on east Broadway in Tucson AZ. was also nominated by us to the Arizona Coalition to End Homelessness for the Business Partner Award. Although they didn’t win the award, their involvement and support of our Mission is much appreciated.

Olive Garden has been a faithful supporter of Gospel Rescue Mission for about 5 years. The relationship was initiated by Manager Robert Malis, who contacted the Mission to host a free ongoing monthly lunch for the clients of our Women & Children’s Center. Robert expressed his heart of compassion that he wanted to truly bless our ladies.

Our clients have seldom experienced eating out at a “sit down” restaurant prior to coming to the Mission. To go out to a restaurant and be treated as special guests and order whatever they wish off of the menu is truly a kind and generous gift. They receive first class treatment each month!

Shortly after beginning the monthly lunches, Robert wanted to do even more to assist the homeless of our community, as well as our Mission. So, Robert began donating the Olive Garden’s excess food items such as lasagna, spaghetti, bread sticks, and salad.

The Mission now receives, on a weekly basis, an abundant supply of wonderful food from the Olive Garden…enough for a complete dinner serving and all we do is thaw, bake and serve!

It goes without saying how much the men and women in our centers enjoy and look forward to the
delicious Olive Garden dinners!
