Volunteer Opportunities

Find the perfect way to serve and make an impact

Kitchen & Meals

Help prepare and serve nutritious meals to those in need. No cooking experience required!

Details: Join our kitchen team to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for up to 200 guests daily. Tasks include food prep, cooking, serving meals, and cleanup. Flexible shifts available: morning (6-9am), lunch (10am-1pm), or dinner (4-7pm). Perfect for individuals or groups.

Clothing & Donations

Sort, organize, and distribute clothing and essential items to our guests.

Details: Work in our donation center sorting clothing by size and season, organizing hygiene products, and helping guests select items they need. Includes inventory management and maintaining organized storage areas. Shifts available Tuesday-Saturday, 9am-4pm.

Tutoring & Education

Support literacy programs and educational initiatives for children and adults.

Details: Assist with GED preparation, ESL classes, computer literacy training, and children’s homework help. One-on-one tutoring or small group instruction. Evening sessions Monday-Thursday, 5-8pm. Background in education helpful but not required.

Guest Services

Provide a welcoming presence, offer support, and assist with check-in and hospitality.

Details: Greet guests at reception, assist with check-in procedures, answer questions, and provide a compassionate listening ear. Help coordinate services and connect guests with resources. Front desk shifts available daily, 3-hour minimum commitment.

Facilities & Maintenance

Help maintain our facility through repairs, cleaning, and grounds keeping.

Details: Assist with building maintenance, minor repairs, painting, landscaping, and general upkeep. Projects range from deep cleaning to furniture assembly and seasonal maintenance. Weekend work days available, basic tool skills helpful.

Administrative Support

Assist with office tasks, data entry, and organizational projects.

Details: Support our administrative team with data entry, filing, making phone calls, creating flyers, managing databases, and special projects. Computer skills required. Flexible weekday hours, ideal for remote work or in-office support.

Everything you need to know before your tour

What should I expect during the tour?
Your tour will last approximately 45-60 minutes. You’ll meet our volunteer coordinator, tour our facilities, learn about our mission, and discover the various ways you can get involved. It’s an informal, welcoming experience designed to answer all your questions.
Are there age requirements for volunteering?
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Youth ages 16-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during volunteer shifts. Some roles may require volunteers to be 18+.
Is a background check required?
Yes, all volunteers are required to complete a background check before beginning service. This is a standard safety measure that helps us protect both our guests and volunteers. The process is simple and we’ll guide you through it after your tour.
How much time do I need to commit?
We appreciate any amount of time you can give! Some volunteers serve weekly, others monthly, and some join us for special events. During registration, you’ll indicate your availability and we’ll work to match you with opportunities that fit your schedule.
What happens after I complete the tour?
You’ll receive a follow-up email with a link to complete your volunteer registration. This form will ask about your availability, skills, and department preferences. Once submitted, our volunteer coordinator will contact you to schedule an orientation and your first volunteer shift.
