I can hardly imagine anything more challenging than spending Christmas homeless and alone. Every year I am overwhelmed when I see all the kids who call Gospel Rescue Mission home during the holidays. On the one hand, I am deeply grateful they are here with us – that they are safe, fed, and off the streets. On the other hand, my heart breaks when I consider all they’ve had to endure in their short lives.
As I write this, Gospel Rescue Mission is transformed into a festive wonderland! Each year we collect Christmas gifts for the men, women, and children who will spend their Christmas with us – homeless, but not alone. Struggling, but cared for, loved, and on a journey from homeless to wholeness. We are intentional in everything we do – every detail is attended to because we want our guests to know they matter to us because they matter to Jesus. We want them to know that He is the best gift anyone could ever receive.
This year has been such a challenging year for so many and we are not immune to the challenges we are all facing. The need has never been greater and we are now serving more people than we ever have before. In response to this need, 2 anonymous donors have come forward to help us close the gap in our end of year giving. Together, they have pledged $150,000! From now until December 31, every dollar you donate will be doubled! This needed funding will help us provide hope, shelter, and transformation to men, women, and children who are desperate. We are so close to meeting our goal – will you help us take full advantage of this match?
