“The peace and the joy that I have had in the last eight months, I haven’t had since I was a kid. And I know that’s nothing that I have any part in, because I tried to get clean on my own. But I couldn’t do it on my own.”

Natasha has been clean and sober for 16 months.  As a young adult, Natasha was a functional addict for nine years—sustaining a successful career in the newspaper industry. But shortly after she found out that her mother had been murdered and her best friend passed away from a life-long asthma condition, Natasha went over the edge.

"I felt as if my chains were broken, and I was set free." When William's mom died from a heroin overdose, his life spiraled out of control. Alcohol and drugs became his coping mechanisms as he acted out in high school due to the grief of her absence. But little did he know that this was only the beginning of his struggles. (more…)

Bullied, abused, and taken advantage of, Pua had an extremely rough childhood. From his youth, he had withdrawn into himself and was angry and depressed. After sixth grade, he had an opportunity to meet his father, and his mom put him on a plane to Hawaii. (more…)

By 16, Robert was so broken that when someone offered him meth for the first time, he immediately held out his arm; to stay in this new habit, he learned how to cook it.
