Thank you

Last year, over 18,000 meals—perhaps 4.5 tons of food—were prepared in our kitchen and served to our guests and visitors by compassionate volunteers. Last year, your generosity provided homeless children and adults with over 89,000 nights of safe and comfortable sleep. Last year, our local community donated over $3,000,000 worth of clothing and household goods to our Donation Center, and we helped furnish over 300 households with those gifts. Last year, more than 440 individuals and families found permanent housing. And over 340 found jobs. Yet, more than a meal, more than a shelter, more than the life-changing programs and services, your dedication and kindness provided HOPE.

We also celebrated an epic milestone last year—70 years of nurturing hope, offering shelter, and facilitating transformation. Each day of these seven decades has been a testament to God’s steadfast love and grace, guiding us through every challenge and triumph. And, when I think of the countless lives touched over these years, my heart swells with gratitude for your unwavering support. Your generosity has shattered the chains of addiction, mended broken lives, and healed families. Every story we share of life transformation is a story you helped write.

Your contributions in 2023 have been more than numbers; they’ve been lifelines to real people. Think of the children who first experienced the comfort of a warm bed or the men who escaped the harshness of the streets to find refuge and hope. Remember the countless souls who traded the weight of their traumatic pasts for a future of freedom and healing and the courageous women who stepped away from abuse towards a life of dignity and strength.

In each of these stories, you’ve played a pivotal role. Your financial aid, prayers, and active involvement have woven threads of compassion and kindness into the fabric of their lives. On behalf of everyone at GRM—our guests, staff, volunteers and Board of Directors—I extend our deepest thanks for your heart of generosity.

Our holistic approach to care, rooted in compassion, not only brings light to dark places but also stands as a testament to God’s promise of redemption and renewal. This approach isn’t just about addressing immediate needs; it’s about acknowledging and healing the deep-seated pains and breaking the chains of addiction that have held many captive for too long.

Your support has brought hope and healing to thousands who felt invisible in their suffering. While many solutions to homelessness and addiction scratch the surface, your contribution goes deeper—offering transformation, freedom, peace, and the life-changing message of Christ’s love.

As we forge ahead in 2024, your continued support is crucial. Your kindness fuels our mission to provide hope, shelter, and transformation. Every act of generosity is a step towards a better tomorrow for those we serve.

THANK YOU for being a light in the darkness. For choosing love. Your compassion is a living example of Christ’s love in action.

Thanking God for you,
Lisa Chastain
Chief Executive Officer
